- Our PC purchasing demand aggregation has encouraged a great degree of competition from PC vendors. Although we didn't anticipate awarding our strategic sourcing PC contracts until 2012, one major vendor unilaterally offered a significant discount below governmentwide contract prices that would apply to 2011 end-of-year purchasing even in the absence of the departmentwide purchasing contracts planned for 2012.

- The chief financial officer and I find ourselves tremendously aligned in thinking across a whole host of issues. I find that CFO support is essential, and there is no question that, without it, my ability to get traction for many of my strategic initiatives would be extremely limited.
