- Recognition and financial rewards can only go so far in keeping your top talent. You also must invigorate their minds -- offer opportunities to work on exciting and innovative projects and develop new skills.
- Your relationship with a key business leader:
- I partner closely with our chief marketing officer. The adage that 'Marketing is Venus and IT is Mars' doesn't hold in our company. We bounce ideas off of each other on many projects and our e-commerce platform.
- Career highlight:
- I was a trained chef and baker prior to heading down the IT path. I loved experimenting and developing creative entrees, breads, cakes and pies. This imaginative food career diversion assisted me in thinking outside the box -- so to speak.
