- How have you incorporated social media into your own work?
- We're heavy adopters of multimedia communications products, and we're driving social business software in new and unexpected ways. Both are designed to drive real-time communications and collaboration, but the potential for both to solve real-world clinical problems is extremely promising.
- Career highlight:
- I spent 10 years in the military, seven of those in special operations, and another eight years advising the White House on critical infrastructure protection. Not your normal CIO track.
- How do you evaluate emerging technologies?
- We have a few dozen doctors who are statistically genius, but more practically, they really like gadgets. I give them access to almost anything promising, and they love trying new technologies that promise to solve old problems. It's not only intellectually stimulating, it's solving real-world problems, and they make it really fun to be part of such a noble cause.
