David Steinour, 2011 Honoree

The George Washington University
Washington, D.C.
A career highlight:
"My work on the Innovation Task Force, a committee charged with identifying business and academic efficiencies to save the university $60 million in administrative expenses over five years to be invested back into academic programs. I am the co-chairman of the learning/teaching group, where I use my IT expertise to determine the viability and potential savings of submitted proposals."
Most important technology to the organization:
"Mobile computing. We're most concerned with promoting connectivity, providing our customers with anytime/anywhere access with full security and privacy protections. My personal goal is to brand the university as the most connected urban campus in the country. This goal requires that GWireless, our wireless Internet connection, be expanded to include more coverage areas and that our security systems maintain pace with the growth of our network."
