Microsoft has announced a new training program targeted at providing cloud certifications to over 100,000 developers in India.

The Future Ready Champions of Code program will provide resources to learn, practice, earn net new or renew Microsoft cloud certifications, the company said in a blog post on Tuesday.

Microsoft is partnering with its customers and partners such as Accenture, HCLTech, Icertis, Infosys, InMobi, OYO, PayU, TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro for this month-long program.

The program will provide certifications across Microsoft services and platforms, such as Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, Power BI and security tools.

Microsoft will also collaborate with government and industry partners, such as AICTE, NASSCOM, and ICT Academy for the program.

The program will offer participants the chance to take part in a nationwide hackathon that will be focused on industry innovation, smart cities and sustainable software. The top three winners of the hackathon will get a chance to showcase their solutions to Microsoft leadership in India, the company said.

The new cloud certification program comes at a time when the tech industry is suffering from skilled labor shortage, such as engineering talent and technical staff, and is looking to hire more talent despite mass layoffs.

“With this program we are helping developers and academia be future-ready by upskilling and empowering them with platforms and tools,” Aparna Gupta, executive director of customer success at Microsoft India said in a statement.
