Nutanix appoints A/NZ managing director

Data centre infrastructure vendor Nutanix has appointed Wayne Neich as Australia and New Zealand managing director.

Neich will be based in Sydney and responsible for sales/support. Prior to joining the company, he was Oceania regional director at Silver Peak Systems.

“People are talking about so-called storage wars, but those on the data centre front lines know that the only thing that really matters now is how storage and compute must converge into an almost infinitely scalable package,” Neich said in a statement.

“Frankly, anyone who isn’t doing convergence is selling something that’s already obsolete.”

In addition, Nutanix has opened a regional customer support centre in Melbourne. The centre will provide technical support for the company’s customers, partners and resellers in the Asia Pacific region.

Nutanix opened its first Australian office in Sydney during June 2013. The decision to open an office was driven in part by the high level of virtualization in A/NZ, said northern region territory account manager Vignesh Shashidhar.
