ACC hunting diverse ICT staff

The Australian Crime Commission (ACC) is casting a wide net in a search for ICT talent to work in its Canberra office.

The agency is looking for a panel of companies to provide ICT professionals with skills sets as diverse as applications architects and programmers to data centre engineers and project managers.

The ACC is offering the companies a three year contract to sit on the panel, which will then be approached for short- and long-term staff.

Staff brought on board are expected to help improve the agency’s overall ICT infrastructure, which consists of a Microsoft and Citrix XenApp desktop environment, Cisco routing, HP switching, Microsoft Windows Server and Exchange along with VMware and Solaris.

The ACC server environment includes HP, Sun and EMC hardware and Microsoft SQL and Oracle databases.

Additionally, staff will be asked to help with the agency’s Law Enforcement System Management platform and other business intelligence applications.

The preferred tenderers will be chosen in mid-February with staff expected to commence in mid-March.
