Rimini Street placed on Crown Commercial Service support services framework

Rimini Street has been placed on the government’s Enterprise Application Support Services (EASS) agreement, allowing public sector organisations to procure its application maintenance services more easily.

The EASS framework agreement was established by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) to drive IT contract savings and improve the quality of procurement activity within Whitehall. This involves offering direct access to suppliers which can enable customisation and provide support independently of normal product lifecycles.

Rimini Street claims to offer reduced support costs for the customers of companies such as SAP and Oracle, and counts approximately 100 public sector firms among its global client base.

“Public sector organisations in the UK increasingly desire an alternative to expensive annual software vendor maintenance fees that maximises IT budgets and drives greater value from software support costs,” said Jill Harrison, managing director for Europe, Rimini Street.

The announcement follows rival enterprise software support firm Spinnaker, which was also placed on the EASS agreement last month.

Others the support supplier list include HP, Infosys, CGI, CSC and HCL.

Rimini Street has attracted criticisms from major software providers over its practices, and is currently embroiled in a court case with Oracle over claims it has stolen the firm's intellectual property.
