Leicester City Council tenders for new revenues and benefits system

Leicester City Council is tendering for a new revenues and benefits system under a seven-year contract.

The key focus for the project will be to reduce costs, improve efficiencies and deal effectively with all current and future legislative demands where workload demands are continuously changing, said the council.

The council wants to improve processing times and the quality of output through streamlined system processes. Consequently, said the council, there will be an emphasis on reporting tools and management information extracted from the system.

New functionality should also help to increase council tax and non-domestic rates collection performances.

The requirement is for one fully integrated solution from one provider, that will deliver document imaging processing and workflow, customer access to their accounts and claims and web-based information and reporting.

There will also be an appeals module for all benefits and liable payments, and forecasting tools too.

The contract is for seven years with an option to extend for a further three years on an annual basis. The estimated value of the contract has not been published.
