University of Aberdeen selects UNIT4 ERP to deliver up to £1.6m savings

The University of Aberdeen has selected enterprise software provider UNIT4’s Agresso Campus Platform to facilitate its transformational business improvement programme (OneSource), which it hopes will deliver year-on-year savings of between £1 million and £1.6 million.

Following the implementation of Agresso Students, Finance, HR & Payroll, e-Recruiter, Award Management, Costing and Pricing, CRM and Business Analytics, the platform will be used as an interface between the institution and its students.

Some 3,000 business users at the University of Aberdeen, and 16,000 students, will be using UNIT4’s platform.

“We are living in a time of accelerated market and statutory change,” said Mark Lewis, Programme Director for OneSource at the University of Aberdeen.

“For example in recent times new UK Border Agency requirements, global competition and the future need for electronic management of admissions with UCAS, has meant we have had to adapt.”

He added: “Going forward a key component of our solution to this change is the Agresso Campus Platform. Its configurability means that we will be able to adapt faster and more effectively. In addition, as it is a fully integrated platform, there will be a single version of data and no need for duplicate coding or keying.”

It was recently revealed that UNIT4’s Central Government ERP Platform had been selected to replace SAP in the government’s first independently run shared services centre in Swansea. BPO firm Arvato has secured a seven year contract to operate the centre, which will provide back office services to the Department for Transport and its executive agencies.
