BCS launches entrepreneurs group

BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, has launched a new group dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs and start-ups.

Called BCS Entrepreneurs, the group will focus on helping start-ups find quality interns and expert mentors to help them grow their businesses.

Anil Hansjee, chair of the BCS Innovation and Entrepreneurship working group, said: “By joining the group, entrepreneurs can connect with other digital innovators via links with BCS members, other specialist groups and regional branches.

“We will also act as a policy voice representing the interests of the digital entrepreneurial community. As the chartered institute for IT, we are able to bridge the gap for business development and procurement between digital entrepreneurs and large corporate, who traditionally find it difficult to connect and do business together.”

BCS will be running a series of events for the new group, with the first taking place on 23 July.

The initial event is aimed at helping graduates understand entrepreneurship and the opportunities open to them.

“We are very keen to welcome new members from all areas of expertise, including young people interested in entrepreneurial career paths and those who may currently be in a corporate environment,” said Hansjee.

BCS Entrepreneurs is open to BCS members, non-members and other relevant organisations.
