Microsoft signs CSC as outsourcing provider for Azure

CSC is set to become an outsourcing provider for the Windows Azure cloud platform for internet services.

Microsoft yesterday revealed pricing for its Windows Azure cloud-computing infrastructure, making it free initially for the first three months, before the company begins charging for it in November.

CSC has announced it will use the Windows Azure platform for a "wide-range" of internet services that can be accessed from on-premises or in the cloud.

CSC also launched a dedicated CSC Global Competency Centre located in Vietnam specialising in Windows Azure.

Microsoft and CSC will begin marketing and sales initiatives to bring its joint offering to both independent software vendors and enterprise customers.

CSC said it had more than 2,000 .NET developers, which can support "large scale development projects with public cloud computing benefits delivered by the Windows Azure platform".
