Microsoft ends Windows 8 support: 8 reasons why your business should upgrade to Windows 10

Updated 13th January 2016: Microsoft ends support for Windows 8 meaning users cannot update bug fixes or any security patches and must upgrade to Windows 8.1 or 10, or downgrade to Windows 7.

Microsoft no longer supports Windows 8, meaning security patches, updates and vital bug fixes are not available on the Windows 8 operating system. Basically, not upgrading could leave businesses vulnerable to security breaches and other malicious threats.

For businesses still running on Windows 8, an upgrade to Windows 10 will provide full support, bug fixes and other security patches.

Windows 10 is Microsoft's only card in the game. If you want a supported Windows, you need Windows 10. Indeed, Windows 10 won't let you not update. If you are running a shop with PCs running Windows, make it Windows 10. Then there is the upgrade cycle. Windows 10 will be Microsoft's last full OS release,  moving to an incremental rollout framework the vendor refers to as 'Windows-as-a-service'. You will never pay for Windows licences again.
