Digital marketing is a core strategy when building your brand or career. As people have increasingly shifted online, digital marketing has become the de facto way organisations promote their services and products, as well as how they interact with customers.

Google Analyticsis a free online tool that tracks and reports website traffic to provide users with a greater insight into their customers. Although some aspects of the platform can be quite technical, having even the most basic  understanding of how it works can improve the way in which you market your business.

Google’s ‘Analytics Academy’ offers six courses that differ depending on the experience of the student and what they want to learn. Each course ranges in length from four to seven modules and is taught by three instructors, all of whom are industry experts.

All Analytics Academy courses are free of charge.

Social media management platform, Hootsuite, offers a wide range of courses and certifications via its Hootsuite Academy programme.

Courses range from the basic (and free) ‘Learn How to Use Hootsuite’ all the way through to the pay-for options of ‘Social Media ROI and Value Analysis Training’ and ‘Hootsuite for Healthcare Training’. Its certifications are similarly wide ranging in subject area, with everything from ‘Advanced Social Media Strategy’ and ‘Social Selling’.

All qualifications are industry-recognised, taught by leading professionals and backed by social media experts from around the world. Priced courses start from $99 and range in value up to $999.

Udemy Digital Marketing Masterclass

Udemy offers a Digital Marketing Masterclass which includes a range of 23 online courses covering everything from social media to email marketing.

The masterclass teaches core methods on how to use various digital marketing strategies, ways to improve brand identity, increase conversions and sales and much more.

It includes over 30 hours of on-demand video, articles as well as guides and checklists available for download.

Users can access the courses on mobile, PC and TV and a certificate is provided when completed.

The Udemy masterclass is priced at £199.99.

Skillshare Digital Marketing Training

Skillshareoffers multiple digital marketing courses to learn a range of skills from advertising to social media and content marketing.

It provides courses from as little as 15 minutes up to over four hours, ranging across core topics such as Instagram marketing, SEO, LinkedIn strategy and more.

Skillshare has several courses available for free once signed up, with two months free access to others which follows a monthly subscription that provides access to other tutorials and training programs.

Hubspot Content Marketing Certification

Hubspot provides a free online Content Marketing Certification course, which includes a curriculum of 12 individual courses which each offer two to three videos.

The course is delivered to teach students how to develop a good content strategy as part of inbound marketing efforts to attract new customers and convert website visitors into leads.

Access to the free courses is available after sign-up. There is a certificate provided upon completion of the exam which consists of 60 multiple choice questions.

Coursera Digital Marketing Specialization

Coursera Digital Marketing Specialization

Coursera's Digital Marketing Specialization is one of more than 2,000 courses available on the platform.

This specialisiation is part of the University of Illinois Masters of Business Administration degree program, the iMBA. It's divided into six courses that cover an array of modern marketing including search engine optimisation, social media marketing, data analytics and digital tools.

The Digital Marketing Specialization culminates with the Capstone Project, a six-week assignment in which students apply what they've learned to a real business problem.

Google Academy for Ads offers free bite-sized courses on Google's online advertising products, including AdWords, Programmatic, and DoubleClick.

The classes cover all of Google's best practices on ads and digital strategy and can be completed at any place and time from laptops or mobile devices.

Users are walked through learning paths comprised of text, videos and interactive challenges before they are assessed on their knowledge. They can then earn certifications on a range of different subjects, including AdWords Fundamentals, AdWords Mobile, AdWords Search, AdWords Video, AdWords Display and Google Shopping.

Alison Diploma in E-Business

Alison Diploma in E-Business

The Alison Diploma in E-Business is designed to help business owners learn online marketing skills and how to implement them in a strategy.

Students are taught how to build a marketing plan, promote their business and improve online conversion rates.

To complete the 6-10 hours course, you need to score 80 percent or higher in each assessment.

The diploma is free to study, but you have to pay to gain the certificate that proves that you have passed.

The set of lessons begins with the fundamentals, before moving through content, promotion, conversion, lead nurturing, conversational marketing, sales enablement and customer marketing.

Videos teach you about the topics, provide real-life examples and show how to apply them to your own business. The course also includes quizzes and practical exercises along the way to track your progress.

Graduates of the course earn a recognised certification that they can add to their CV or LinkedIn profile for free.
