This government agency requires its employees to change their passwords every month, according to a computer security officer pilot fish working there -- so eventually users should get the hang of the process, right?

Or maybe not. "One of my users was a very nice lady who without fail always got her password change procedure wrong," fish says. "When her password expired at the end of 30 days, she'd mess up and get locked out.

"Of course, I would have to go to her office and help her change her password. This meant going over the procedure I had walked her through countless times before.

"One day in frustration I said to her, 'You know, Betty, you are the only one having this problem.' That didn't go over very well, and she proceeded to give me a roasting that made me regret ever opening my mouth.

"Another month went by and once again I got the call and went to Betty's office. While I was walking her through the procedure yet again, she said, 'You know, I think I'm the only one this is happening to...'"
