The OnePlus Two release date looks like being in August or September. It's now confirmed that the launch won't be for another month. Don't expect any sort of reasonable availability for a month or two after, at the very least.

Of course, we know we'll get a little craziness from OnePlus, and the company hasn't disappointed: The July 27 launch event will be streamed in virtual reality, targeted at a customized version of Google Cardboard.

Today’s news comes a few weeks after the Shenzhen-headquartered company scythed $50 off the OnePlus One, a clear sign that the company was looking to ditch existing inventory ahead of the arrival of...the OnePlus 2.

[It] will run the company’s own Android Lollipop-based operating system, OxygenOS. ... OnePlus had intended to use its usual CyanogenMod operating system, but Cyanogen...unexpectedly granted exclusivity to another manufacturer in [India].  MORE

Yes, but what about the specs? Ketan Pratap reminds us what we know about the Two:

OnePlus, ahead of the launch...has been revealing little bits. [It] will feature USB Type-C [and] v2.1 of Qualcomm's top-end mobile processor, the Snapdragon 810.  MORE

Carl Pei [had told IDG's Michael Kan] we can expect to see the OnePlus 2 sometime around [July. He later] confirmed the OnePlus Two is set to arrive in the second or third quarter..."We’ve changed the release windows 4 or 5 times."

Could OnePlus be about to produce the first truly affordable Quad HD smartphone? Or will it have a unibody metal chassis? ... Rumours suggest the OnePlus 2 will...feature a 5.5in screen...the resolution could be bumped to 2K and the overall size of the handset should be smaller. ...
