Pilot fish is working as a service engineer for a big computer company, and one of the sites he maintains is a university research facility that studies the Chesapeake Bay.
"One day while I was performing routine maintenance at that site, a professor stormed into the lab," says fish.
"He said to the grad student there, 'Make the wind blow from the east for three days' -- and then rushed out.
"I looked at the grad student and said, 'I knew you guys were working on some cool stuff. Can you really do that?'
"He stuttered a bit and then said, 'It's a simulation.' We both had a laugh and went back to work."
