Covisint taps MatrixOne for collaboration tools

Covisint LLC today tapped MatrixOne Inc. to provide collaboration and sourcing tools for its automotive members to use for streamlining product development and speeding time to market.

Covisint, a Southfield, Mich.-based business-to-business exchange in the automotive industry, will integrate the MatrixOne Value Chain Portfolio of applications for collaborative commerce into its Virtual Project Workspace (VPW) Version 3.0. Westford, Mass.-based MatrixOne was chosen for its significant penetration in the automotive industry and its broad applications for each stage of the collaborative process, Covisint officials said in a statement.

The MatrixOne applications will enable Covisint to continue to improve its customers' ability to meet the challenges of time to market, quality and cost efficiency, said Kevin English, chairman, CEO and president of Covisint.

Covisint's VPW is a collaboration platform designed to allow customers to manage projects across the Internet in a private and secure environment. Tools include a collaboration manager for document management, workflow and routing, as well as a suite of tools for interenterprise management and the collaborative-bidding process.
