1910: 15 florists unite to exchange out-of-town orders via telegraph.

1930: FTD adds order-taking via telephone.

1978: Mercury debuts on modem-to-modem dial-up network.

1989: Mercury 3000 dumb terminals rolled out, with a 24-line display used in text-based Mercury Advantage.

1998: Mercury Wings, a Windows-based system, debuts.

2000: FTD.com is launched. Wireless business-to-consumer ordering capabilities added later.
