Sun Microsystems Inc. today plans to introduce a four-socket midrange server based on its UltraSparc T2 Plus processor. The Sparc Enterprise T5440 supports up to 32 processor cores and is priced from $44,995.
Oracle Corp. agreed to purchase Primavera Systems Inc., a maker of project portfolio management software, for an undisclosed sum. Primavera will be part of a new Oracle business unit headed by Primavera CEO Joel Koppelman.
