Adobe on Friday will announce the availability of the Creative Suite 5 (CS5) family, which enables the development of content and applications for the upcoming Flash Player 10.1 and AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime) 2.
CS5 will be available in five versions: Master Collection, for design and development; the Design Premium toolkit for designers; Web Premium, for building Web sites; Production Premium, for video production; and Design Standard, for print design. Also featured is the Flash Catalyst design interaction tool and 15 point products and associated technologies, Adobe said.

"Whatever the media, CS5 is ensuring that publishers and creatives can deliver stand-out work and build great businesses around their unique digital assets and content," said John Loiacono, senior vice president of creative solutions at Adobe, in a statement released by the company.
Flash Player 10.1 and AIR 2, meanwhile, focus on mobile screens and native device capabilities.
The CS5 family also features new versions of tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesigh, Professional, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro and After Effects. These tools are sold either separately or as part of CS5 editions. Dreamweaver, for building Web sites, now supports content management systems such as Drupal, Joomla and WordPress.
CS5 also features native 64-bit support for Mac and Windows in the Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects tools.
In addition, CS5 provides access to Omniture technologies for capturing and analyzing information generated by Web sites and other sources, Adobe said. Creative Suite 5 products also integrate with Adobe CSLive online services for collaboration and testing.
The estimated CS5 street prices range from $1,299 for Design Standard to $2,599 for Master Collection.
