H-1B visa data: Visual and interactive tools

Interactive map: 2009 H-1B visa applications for tech jobs by city

The map below shows where H-1B visa holders will be working, at least according to 2009 H-1B visa applications filed last year for IT jobs. Only Labor Condition Applications subsequently certified (approved) by the U.S. Department of Labor are included, for cities with five or more workers. LCAs are used by employers as supporting evidence for the petition for an H-1B visa. If multiple locations are in the LCA, only the first has been mapped.

You can also view this H-1B data as a searchable, sortable database.

Next: Optional Practical Extension applications filed since mid-2008
