NEW YORK -- XYZprinting today unveiled details of its 3D desktop printer line pricing and availability starting with its lowest priced model, the $499 da Vinci 1.0, which went on sale today.
The da Vinci is now available for purchase in the U.S. on Amazon.com. It will also be available through Studica and Microcenter in the coming months.
The printer lineup also includes the da Vinci 2.0 Duo for $649 and the da Vinci 2.1 Duo Plus for $849; both new machines were on display at Inside 3D Printing Conference and Expo here today.
The printers include a one-year limited warranty WiFi connectivity and remote tablet access.
The da Vinci 3D printer product line features three desktop 3D printers that require no assembly, as well as one new high-end machine. The printers are currently compatible with ABS plastic and are set to be compatible with PLA by the fourth quarter.
The initial lineup of printers were displayed earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show.
The next generation of XYZprinting machines, da Vinci 2.0 Duo and da Vinci 2.1 Duo Plus, are dual-color machines that will be available in the second and third quarters of this year. The da Vinci 2.1 Duo Plus features Wi-Fi connectivity, remote access through a mobile app and built in camera, and a touch screen panel.
Key features of the 2.1 Duo Plus model include:
- Color Creativity: da Vinci 2.1 Duo Plus features dual-nozzles for multi-color print projects using the 12 filament colors available in easy-to-install cartridges.
- Remote Access: With XYZprinting's Android and iOS apps, users can set up and monitor print jobs through an iPad or Android tablet. A built in camera allows users to see live images of their print job while on the go.
- Stand-alone Printer: Featuring a USB port and Android-based 5'' color LCD touch panel, the da Vinci 2.1 Duo Plus is a Wi-Fi enabled machine that can be managed and operated without a connection to a desktop or laptop computer. Users can simply plug in a USB drive and press print or work from a tablet using the XYZprinting app and Wi-Fi connection.
- Expanded Cloud Resources: da Vinci 2.1 Duo Plus includes XYZ World, an open-source cloud database with 3D models consumers can customize as desired. Updated daily, the database includes over 700 drawings and features timely pop culture and holiday-themed items.
