This company is in the process of migrating to a cloud mail provider, but not every user is happy with the new capabilities, according to an IT pilot fish on the scene.
"The new system uses Outlook 2013 as the workstation client," says fish. "One of the features is an app that uses Bing to display a map based on such information as phone numbers, postal addresses or URLs written in the message body or subject.
"One of my users sent me a frantic email wanting to know how to turn that feature off.
"She was concerned that when she sends an email from somewhere outside of the office, her email will provide the recipients with a map showing where she was when she sent the email.
"It took me several messages to convince her that her computer does not include the address of her current location in email, and that the app is using address information provided in the message body or subject."
