Sounds like a training issue

This medical supply company has a number of older, less tech-savvy users, reports a help desk pilot fish on the low end of the totem pole.

"While I was in training, my trainer was troubleshooting a machine at one of our remote locations," fish says. "We needed the user, an older woman, to access the Start menu so we could see what user was logged into the machine, via remote desktop.

"The trainer told the user, 'I need you to click on the Start button on the bottom left of your screen.'

"After a couple seconds of silence, she said she couldn't find the Start button. 'I have one that says Control, and Shift is above that,' she told him.

"My trainer realized the problem and said, 'I'm sorry, I mean I need you to use your mouse and click on the Start button at the bottom left.'

"After several more seconds of silence, she responded, 'I have a Dell mouse. It only has a left click and a right click.'

"Dumbfounded, he told her, 'Can you have Betty call me back when she gets in? We'll get it figured out that way.'"
