Josh Stephens

Josh Stephens is the founder of Bearded Dog, a company focused on technology consulting and development in Austin, Texas.

Working in network management and infrastructure for almost 20 years, he has designed and deployed networks and systems for INS Technology, MCI/UUNET, Sprint, the U.S. Air Force, Wal-Mart, and many more. Josh is also the former VP of Technology and Head Geek at SolarWinds where he spent almost a dozen years helping customers with their technology strategies.

An accomplished speaker, Josh regularly shares IT management best practices on topics that include troubleshooting, planning, design and career advancement for IT professionals.

In his personal time Josh is a voracious reader and is always looking for great book recommendations. You can also find him in his lab testing the latest technologies, training his Deutsch Drahthaars, or somewhere between the fishing boat and duck blind.

His EtherGeek blog for Computerworld focuses on the evolution of today’s network infrastructure, with a focus on fundamentals and relevant news for the network engineering community.
