The teleworking program at this banking services company in Purchase, N.Y., has more than 400 participants. Employees who take part in the program work part of their regularly scheduled days at a MasterCard location and the remaining days at home or another approved location. Typically, an employee will spend two days in the office and three days out of the office one week, with three days in the office and two days out of the office the following week,. The schedule rotates every other week. Employee connections are forged through frequent departmental meetings, new-hire lunches, regularly scheduled all-employee meetings, leadership dialogues and scheduled sessions with senior management. Through the Mentoring@MasterCard program, employees gain help in mastering the company's five leadership principles. The SPOT -- Superior Performance and Outstanding Teamwork -- award program allows individuals to recommend co-workers to receive a cash award of up to $2,500 for outstanding work. A Business Technologists program honors employees who consistently demonstrate company values. The program annually recognizes about 20 people.
