100 Best Places to Work in IT 2009
Employer Profile
Why You Want to Work There
IT employees are rarely required to fly commercial at this Monett, Mo., company, which provides computer systems to banks and credit unions. IT workers instead arrive at the airport 15 minutes prior to their departure time, flash their identification badges to the pilot and hop on one of six corporate airplanes stocked with soda, water and snacks. The company says that by using its private air services, travel-related stress diminishes and employees are able to spend more time at home and less time on the road or in airports. Other perks include flexible work hours and a VPN that allows employees to access the corporate network 24 hours a day, seven days a week, plus Web access to a few key systems. When employees need to check e-mail or put in for paid time off, they can access those applications via any secured Internet-connected PC.
