Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Free
You can't depend on just one program to protect you from rootkits, Trojans, viruses, worms, and other malicious code. The job is too important and the villains too numerous for that. So supplement your regular antivirus program (the one you keep running in the background at all times) with an extra malware scanner, such as Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Free.

GleeBox Firefox Add-on
Do your mousing muscles ache after you browse the Web? The free GleeBox experimental Firefox add-on and Chrome extension let you perform many tasks by using your keyboard rather than the mouse--including some tasks that require multi-step actions.

Magic Box Browser Just Boxes You In
Whether you realize it or not, it's likely that you're constantly using Web apps as you surf the Web. Sites such as Facebook are meant to be left open, and it makes sense to separate them from more traditional pages. Magic Box (free) offers one way to do so, as a standalone browser which can open up any of 15 Web apps (including Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Gmail, Hulu, and LinkedIn) in different tabs. However, the lack of features makes it less useful than a simple bookmark folder in a more full-featured browser.

Download Statusbar Smoothes Firefox Downloads
The Download Statusbar add-on for Firefox (free/donationware) offers a less intrusive, more streamlined way to keep track of your downloads than the standard downloads window.

A couple of follow-ups and syncing IMAP servers
Mark Gibbs follows up on two items from the last couple of weeks and finds a cool tool for synchronizing IMAP accounts.

CrystalDiskInfo is SMART About Hard Drives
CrystalDiskInfo (free) is a utility program which tells you just about everything about the hardware performance of your hard disk--including how likely it is to stop performing in the near future. It uses the S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) protocol, which is included in most hard disks likely to be found in recent systems, to tell you what's going on with your discs. This includes such details as current drive temperature, number of failed read or write attempts, how long the drive has been running and how often it's been started and stopped, and so on. As various factors approach thresholds of danger, CrystalDiskInfo will alert you, letting you know it's time to make backups while you still can. Generally, once a drive starts to die, it will tumble downhill fast, so if you begin seeing an uptick in failure rates, it's often best to assume the worst.

Googsystray Tracks Your Google Services
If you use Google services such as Gmail, or Google Calendar, here's a free, simple utility you'll most likely want. Googsystray (free) sits in your system tray and lets you know when you've received new mail, when a new appointment has been made, or when an existing appointment or deadline needs your attention.

PDF Converter GDoc Creator
Some documents are better shared as PDF files, rather than as Microsoft Office documents--but how can you convert native Office documents to PDF? The answer is simple: Use gDoc Creator. This free software easily converts Office 2003 and 2007 files to PDF files. Available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions, it runs as an add-in to Office, and is available from the toolbar. It not only convert files to Adobe's PDF format, and e-mails them as well. It also converts and e-mails files to Microsoft's rarely used XPS format.

Incredible Bookmarks Helps Find the Way
Incredible Bookmarks adds a new toolbar to Firefox that acts like a supercharged Bookmarks Toolbar. This free add-on introduces many nifty features for displaying and managing your bookmarks.
