Interactive graphic: iPhone 4S, iOS 5 and iCloud reaction roundup

October 13, 2011 03:50 PM ET

There was a lot of chatter around the Web the past few days about the arrival of iPhone 4S, iCloud and iOS 5. How to keep track of it all?

One way would be to bookmark Computerworld's own Apple coverage page. Another would be to track tweets about the release of Apple's latest mobile offerings. Some might be interested in looking at all tweets to gauge overall sentiment; others might want to see how popular, well-followed commentators reacted.

Given the sheer volume of worldwide tweets about iPhone alone, we decided to go the second route. Here, we tracked tweets from several Computerworld Twitter accounts, those of colleagues at a few of our sister sites and top technology journalists elsewhere (as tracked by Muck Rack).

The graph and table below are interactive. Mouse over the hour-by-hour graph to see number of tweets each hour; use the dropdown list at the top right to select per day. You can also see only tweets rated as positive, negative and/or neutral; see those just about iPhone 4S, iOS or iCloud; and search all the tweets for any specific word. This data visualization was created with free Tableau Public software and requires JavaScript to load.
