Google's Schmidt to speak at Berlin show
IDG News Service - Google's CEO Eric Schmidt will deliver the closing keynote at the Internationale Funkaustellung (IFA) trade show, the organizer said on Tuesday.
Schmidt will give his talk on September 7. IFA runs Sept. 3 - 8.
Like the Mobile World Congress in February, it looks like IFA is going to be another good show for Google's Android platform. For example, ViewSonic has already announced the ViewPad 7, which will be on display at IFA, and Samsung will announce the Galaxy Tab at the show. Both products will have Android version 2.2 under the hood. Huawei is also launching a smartphone based on the latest version of Android.
However, Germany and its continued criticism of Street View have also been a thorn in Google's side. Recently, Google launched an online tool, which is only available in Germany, that lets people living in some 20 cities where Street View is due to launch later this year to request that images of their properties be blurred prior to the service going live.
