Mozy online backup fixes Time Machine bug
Company apologizes to users for the mistake
August 14, 2009 12:21 PM ETComputerworld - Decho Corp. said today the latest Mac release of its MozyHome and MozyPro online backup service fixes a problem it was having associated with saving backups sent to it by Apple Inc.'s Time Machine backup tool, which works with Apple's Time Capsule network-attached storage device.
The Version 1.4.3 Mac release for MozyHome and MozyPro is available for download at the MozyHome site and at the MozyPro site. The new version fixes the Time Machine/Time Capsule issue.
A bug was discovered in Version 1.4.1 of the Mac release earlier this week; it affected users of Time Machine with Time Capsule or Time Machine with a network share of another Mac. The problem with Mozy's backup process caused Time Machine software to pause and then freeze up.
"During the process, our engineers worked tirelessly to diagnose and fix the issue. This latest version has undergone a rigorous testing process, and we are confident this solves the problem. We apologize again to everyone who ran into the issue," Decho said in a blog on Mozy.com.
