LaCie intros the Rugged XL 1TB hard disk

Macworld - Hard drive-maker LaCie introduced a new version of its Rugged line of hard drives. The Rugged XL doubles the capacity of the original model to 1TB.

The XL version uses the same design as the original Rugged drive, utilizing an aluminum case covered by a bright orange sleeve. The Rugged drives also features an internal bumper and heat dissipation.

The Rugged XL was designed for speed-intensive applications, according to LaCie. The drive's connectors are USB 2.0 and eSATA, making the drive compatible with practically every modern computer system.

The LaCie Rugged XL 1TB costs $160, and will be available directly from LaCie when it ships.
