MozyPro for Mac goes live
Online backups cost a small fee, plus 50 cents a month per gigabyte
Computerworld - Decho Corp., formerly Mozy Corp., today announced the general availability of MozyPro for Macs, an online backup service geared toward businesses using Mac desktops, notebooks and servers.
MozyPro for Mac supports Mac OS X 10.4, Mac OS X 10.5 and Mac OS X Server 10.4 and 10.5. The pricing for desktops and laptops is $3.95 per machine plus 50 cents per gigabyte of data per month. Server backups are $6.95 per machine, plus 50 cents per gigabyte per month.
Jeffrey Bonacci, senior creative systems engineer at international advertising, marketing and public relations agency Ogilvy and Mather, said his company is using MozyPro to ensure intellectual property is backed up and "not vulnerable to theft, failure or disaster."
"We run a large number of Macs, and needed a business-caliber solution that was easy to deploy and cost-effective. We cannot afford to lose information on any one of our employee's Macs," he said in a statement.
Last Spring, Mozy, a division of EMC Corp., released its MozyHome online backup service for consumer Mac users.
Decho (short for digital echo) was formed by parent company EMC last month as an umbrella for both its Mozy Pro and Pi Corp. subsidiaries as a new cloud computing services subsidiary.
