Editor's note: This image gallery accompanies our story Ink wars: Kodak vs. HP in the ink-jet consumables battle, in which we pit the Kodak EasyShare 5300 all-in-one printer against the HP Photosmart 5180 all-in-one. Click through to that story for the full comparison.

The top photo was printed with the HP Photosmart 5180 on its Everyday Photo Paper, while the bottom photo was printed with the Kodak EasyShare 5300 on the company's standard Kodak Photo Paper.

The HP printer generated a somewhat dark image with rich colors -- notice the color saturation on the blue shirt. The Kodak photo appears lighter and the faces a bit washed out. (You'll find results printed on higher-end photo paper, as well as a landscape shot, on the subsequent pages of this gallery.)
