Brief: EDS wins $1.3B outsourcing pact

ABN AMRO Holding NV has awarded Electronic Data Systems Corp. a five-year, $1.3 billion IT outsourcing contract, the companies announced today.
The contract to provide technology services and applications development to ABN AMRO's Wholesale Client (WSC) Strategic Business Unit will cover the major locations throughout the world where WSC operates, particularly in New York and London, according to Terry Ballack, a spokesman for EDS Global Communications of Strategic Alliances. The agreement will be implemented after conditions such as regulatory approvals have been met.
ABN AMRO's WSC unit, based in London, provides financial services to corporate and institutional clients.
