Ask the Right Questions

April 29, 2002 12:00 PM ET

Computerworld - Mike Hager, vice president of network security and disaster recovery at OppenheimerFunds, says companies that are considering provisioning should ask the following workflow evaluation questions:
Which applications require user account setup?
Where are users going and what are they accessing?
What are the group structures and roles in the platforms and applications that I want to tie into the provisioning infrastructure?
How many user accounts and passwords do I have, and in what structure are they sent?
Who or what controls those accounts and passwords?
