Brief: Dell to unveil low-cost Workgroup server

Dell Computer Corp. tomorrow will introduce the PowerEdge 300, a low-cost Workgroup Server designed for small businesses and corporate users.
Mike Roberts, product manager for Dell Workgroup Servers, said the PowerEdge 300 offers customers the reliability, support, manageability and scalability of higher-priced servers. The PowerEdge 300 is powered by dual 800 MHz Intel Pentium 300 processors and can support up to 1GB of memory capacity.
Roberts said customers can order the PowerEdge 300 with the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Windows NT 4.0 or Novell Netware 5.1. It can also be ordered with the Red Hat Linux operating system. Prices for the new server start at $1,039.
