Brief: PerkinElmer turns to Salesforce.com to boost customer data sharing

The goal is to enhance customer service and support.

Computerworld - PerkinElmer Inc. has implemented Salesforce.com Inc.'s customer relationship management system, including the new Customforce tool, to manage and share customer and prospect information across the enterprise, the companies announced today.
The Wellesley, Mass.-based health and industrial sciences technology firm plans to integrate Salesforce with SAP software, making it possible to merge its enterprise resource planning and billing systems.
PerkinElmer has also customized Salesforce using the Customforce tool so users can access information needed to drive working capital management and make customer information more visible to enhance customer service and support.
