$4.1 billion on StorageTek? What a waste
If I were a Sun Microsystems shareholder, I'd be mad as hell. The board decided it would be a brilliant idea to spend over $4 billion on a vendor with which Sun already has an OEM arrangement to get the storage technology it doesn't have the wherewithal to develop itself.

A Good Deal for Sun?
As I read more and more pundits who are in full agreement, as they seem to be, that Sun Microsystems is overpaying for the wrong company, I think the deal to pay $4.1 billion for StorageTek will turn out to be a sweet one for Sun.
