October 1, 2002 (Computerworld) -- IT analyst firm Hurwitz Group Inc. closed its doors yesterday and has gone out of business, according to a source close to the company.
Reportedly, the Framingham, Mass.-based company was struggling under heavy debt and finally succumbed, the source said. The firm's Web site makes no mention of the closure, and its latest news release is an optimistic announcement about the launch of a new newsletter.
Today, Hurwitz's offices were locked and empty. The receptionist's computer was unplugged, and the cord was wrapped around the monitor.
Officials at Hurwitz could not be reached for comment.
Computerworld had an ongoing business relationship with Hurwitz under which the publication would resell research and survey reports from the analyst group.
