Brief: Delta Air Lines flights canceled, delayed due to computer glitch

The problem occurred on Saturday and lasted about six hours

Computerworld - Delta Air Lines Inc. was hit with a computer problem Saturday that forced the cancellation of about 40 flights and caused an unknown number of flight delays.
Katie Connell, a spokeswoman for the Atlanta-based airline, said today that the technical problems began about 2:50 p.m. Saturday and were resolved about six hours later but that an investigation is continuing into what caused them.
Connell said no further details are yet available about whether the problems were caused by hardware, software or other issues.
Some residual delays continued into yesterday but ended by midmorning, she said.
