saw that

I saw that last night on my primary gaming/development system. I immediately said no thanks as I'd rather not mess with the SP yet.

Thought maybe it was offered to me due to being logged in my MSDN account, interesting to find out that it was a big mistake.

I'm generally pro MS, but all of the issues around the SP1 launch are not giving me the warm and fuzzies atm.

I checked my WU last night and it was there. I downloaded it and installed and it is working great. I'm glad MS made this slip up.

I wonder if Microsoft has

I wonder if Microsoft has any processes with checks and balances in place for putting things out to WU. One would assume that they actually care what gets out to the world. Ah, who am I kidding, as long as the cash flow is strong....

Vista 64 Upgrade

I received the Vista Ultimate 64 SP1 in windows update. Until your posting I was not aware that this was a "Microsoft Mistake".

The update installed flawlessly. It did take a long time and I have a fast cable modem connection! All my programs work well. even Trend Micro Pc-cillin Internet Security 2007.

I have not noted any great speed improvements yet. It still takes a long time to start up Vista.

Before the upgrade I was getting error in Internet Explorer 7. I would receive Exploror has stopped working messages then Vista would restart explorer. This problem was not fixed in the upgrade.
