Go big or go home, right?
Well, in this case, it's go small or go home. And if not small, at least smaller. That is exactly what Xiaomi is doing with a new phone. The company turned heads when it introduced it's nearly bezel-less Mi Mix last month. Now images have leaked of a smaller version. So what do we know about the alleged Mi Mix Nano?
In IT Blogwatch, we think small.
Before we get into the Mi Mix Nano, do you remember the regular ol' Mi Mix? Avinash Kumar reminds us:
Xiaomi surprised the tech world by unveiling the edgeless Xiaomi Mi Mix smartphone few weeks back...Most of the tech world considered it...a concept phone before...Xiaomi surprised us...by putting a price tag on it and selling it in limited quantities. Xiaomi Mi Mix sports a 6.4 inch edgeless display with 91.3% screen-to-body ratio, powered by 2.35 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with 4 GB/6 GB of RAM and 128 GB/256 GB storage with MIUI 8 operating system.
Oh, right, that Mi Mix. So what is this about a Mi Mix Nano? Andrew Myrick has the details:
One of the complaints with the Mi Mix was the size of the display, which measures...6.4-inches with a 17:9 screen ration. Now, rumors are swirling that Xiaomi is working on a smaller device codenamed “Nano.” This...will measure in at 5.5-inches.
Sounds good. What about specs? Do we know anything yet? Chris Black fills us in:
The rumored specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 system on chip, 4 gigabytes of RAM and 64 gigabytes of native storage capacity...the tech specs are similar to the Xiaomi Mi Mix, with less RAM/less storage capacity...the Xiaomi Mi Mix Nano is comparable in size with its 5.2” sized panel competitors, meaning that it will be really slick, even for a 5.5 incher.
Do we know anything else? Like price? And where will it be available? Kristijan Lucic has heard some talk:
The Xiaomi Mi Mix Nano...is...expected to come with over 90% screen-to-body ratio, just like its larger sibling...If the rumor is to be believed, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Nano will cost 2,999 Yuan ($436) in China, though we...don’t know whether the phone will be launched only in China, or is Xiaomi actually planning to release a global variant as well.
So, given the limited information we still have, what do people think? Nathan_ingx, for one, is sold:
I would buy this!
