iPhone 7 rumors of 4-speaker design from Apple emerge. But will improved speakers make up for removing the headphone jack?
Today's deep-throat is a Chinese blogger who's gotten hold of an Italian case designer's promo video, supposedly. And our French friend Stagueve is all over it. But are these whispers actually credible?
In IT Blogwatch, bloggers try not to listen to rumors. Your humble blogwatcher curated these bloggy bits for your entertainment.
What’s the craic? 平面设计学习 is lost in translation—iPhone 7 case revealed:
Here's a mobile phone case for the next-generation iPhone. ... The iPhone 7 will have a 4-channel speaker output, the same as the iPad Pro. [It] also confirms the rumors of canceling the 3.5mm headphone jack.
And that's not all. Steve “Stagueve” Hemmerstoffer is found in French—iPhone 7:..4 speakers, stacked camera and flash!:
The iPhone 7 won't be released until September. ... To date, rumors disagreed about the presence or absence of a dual camera sensor, a headphone jack and a Smart Connector port.
Assuming that the [rumor] is accurate -- which is far from proven -- the iPhone 7...back camera and flash would for the first time be aligned vertically! ... The slightly redesigned bands separating the antennae...no longer cross the back.
He's no horse. But Benjamin Mayo neighs: [You're fired -Ed.]
An unusual iPhone 7 leak is making the rounds. ... This is not corroborating with previous leaks, that showed [it] near identical to the existing iPhone 6s. ... Whether this Italian leak is legitimate is unknown.
[But] as expected, the case leaks do not include holes for a 3.5 mm headphone jack. ... Four speakers on an iPhone seems...excessive.
People are sitting on the fence. I'm not sure what o0smoothies0oo really thinks:
Of all leaks thus far, this is the one you know is definitely fake. ... Apple would never put 4 speakers in an iPhone. ... If they did they should be shuttered for being beyond incompetent.
Don't believe obvious fakes people. ... It's very very fake. ... So fake it's hilarious.
But let's not forget that all your headphones are about to become obsolete. delegagtor is slightly cynical:
Let's remove the headphone jack that people use, and replace it with extra speakers that they won't. That'd be innovative!
But what if it did have four speakers? Wouldn't that be awesome? No, says _cai:
But those speakers are still on the sides. They can easily be covered by your hands...especially while gaming. They need to be front facing, if they're "serious" about sound output. ... Like the old HTC One line, or the Nexus 5X or 6P.
