This company has a small call center in the building where an IT support group works, which means they handle any problems there, reports a pilot fish on the scene.
"Call-center staff sign into Communicator to put their phones into service to start accepting calls, and sign out when they're off shift," fish says. "Pretty simple.
"We got a call from a user who couldn't sign into Communicator. Interestingly, it was because her user name was misspelled. It looked to us like the account had never been set up correctly because of this misspelling.
"But she'd been on staff for a few months, so we just shrugged and fixed the problem so she could get to work.
"As soon as we got her logged in, she told us, 'Oh, I never use Communicator or work in the call center. I just wanted to be sure I'm logged out so that I don't receive calls.'"
