User calls the help desk to report a problem with her desktop computer -- and local support techs are all away, reports a pilot fish at the same company.

"I am in a different city, but I decided to help out," fish says. "I called the user, but the phone rang out with nobody answering.

"I tried again a couple hours later, and then again later in the day. Still no answer.

"I eventually tried calling the company receptionist, who worked out where the user was located. She put me through to that department.

"The person I spoke to there explained that the reason I could not get through is because that user doesn't answer her phone..."
