This IT support pilot fish has been an employee at this company for a few years -- and so has a friend of his, who came on board to join the regular staff after a stint as a contract employee.

"I just received a note that my coworker's contractor access badge is up for renewal in the next 30 days," fish reports.

"Interesting that HR doesn't seem to know he was hired four years ago.

"How long do those contractor badges last, anyway?"
