Tech Clash: The iPad vs. Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

They're both good tablets, but which one's better?

Although Apple's new iPad has gotten the lion's share of publicity since its arrival last month, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is getting its own bit of tablet buzz.

As the tablet wars continue to unfold, with Apple hoping to stay ahead of the competition and Android-based rivals like the Transformer Prime doing their best to catch up, tech types are debating which way to jump.

Computerworld reviewer Michael deAgonia weighed in on the new iPad last month, calling it the epitome of what a tablet should be. Computerworld blogger JR Raphael did the same thing with the Asus tablet, calling it the "new king in town" when it was launched in December.

Along those lines, Computerworld's Editor-in-Chief, Scot Finnie -- the new owner of a Transformer Prime -- and News Editor Ken Mingis -- showing off a spanking new iPad -- debated which one is better, and why.

Both Finnie and Mingis are also using their respective tablets as potential ultrabook/laptop replacements, which figured in the discussion.

IDGE Multimedia Content Editor Keith Shaw moderated the debate and produced this video.

Computerworld's Scot Finnie and Ken Mingis debate which tablet is best when it comes to creating a notebook-like experience. Is it the new iPad with a Zagg keyboard/case, or the new Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201?
