Tech calls this network pilot fish to tell him that he has now rebooted a particular device on the network.

"I was connected to the device, and could plainly see that uptime was 121 days," says fish. "I told him, I don't think so.

"Then he admitted that the boss said he rebooted it. Um, no he didn't.

"Check your rack, I said, and tell me that the serial number matches. Nope.

"What is the serial number? Let's look that up. OK, so that is this device. Do you see it?

"Oh yeah, he said, it's at the bottom of the rack and powered off.

"Now we know where we are, I said. And finally, after 35 minutes, I'm ready to start helping you..."
